Jesse Jon Harbach, a 45-year-old Delhi, Iowa man, was convicted of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine after a three-day trial in federal court in Cedar Rapids. Harbach was found with over 1,800 grams of methamphetamine on March 10, 2025, when law enforcement officers stopped the car he was in. The methamphetamine was obtained from a source in Arizona, and Harbach had been receiving packages at a rural Delhi residence for over two years.
The evidence presented at trial showed that Harbach had been involved in a large-scale methamphetamine trafficking operation, receiving multiple packages of the drug from Arizona. The packages were shipped to a rural Delhi residence, where Harbach would pick them up. On March 10, 2025, Harbach and an associate were stopped by law enforcement officers, who found a package containing over 1,800 grams of methamphetamine at Harbach’s feet.
Harbach’s conviction is the result of a joint investigation by the United States Postal Inspection Service, the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, the Iowa State Patrol, the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigations Forensic Laboratory. The case was prosecuted by Special Assistant United States Attorney Michael Hudson and Assistant United States Attorney Dan Chatham.
Harbach faces a mandatory minimum sentence of ten years’ imprisonment and a possible maximum sentence of life imprisonment, a $20,000,000 fine, and at least five years of supervised release following any imprisonment. He remains in custody of the United States Marshal pending sentencing, which will be set after a presentence report is prepared.
