Christopher Allen Puccio, a 32-year-old methamphetamine dealer from Dubuque, Iowa, was sentenced to 25 years in federal prison for his role in distributing ice methamphetamine in the Dubuque area. On July 21, 2025, Puccio pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. The crime occurred in July 2024, when Puccio worked with his uncle David Parker and others to acquire the drugs from Madison, Wisconsin. Puccio’s prior convictions, including delivery of ecstasy and assault on a peace officer, likely contributed to the lengthy sentence.
Puccio was involved in the distribution of approximately a pound-and-a-half of ice methamphetamine. While awaiting sentencing, he attempted to escape from a correctional facility using a makeshift tool to remove grout around a cinderblock below a window of his cell. The escape attempt was thwarted, and Puccio was sentenced to 300 months’ imprisonment, followed by a five-year term of supervised release.
The case was investigated by the Dubuque Drug Task Force, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the United States Marshals Service, and the Linn County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant United States Attorney Dillan Edwards prosecuted the case, which was heard by United States District Court Chief Judge C.J. Williams in Cedar Rapids.
Puccio is currently being held in the United States Marshal’s custody until he can be transported to a federal prison. The sentence reflects the severity of the crime and the defendant’s prior convictions, sending a strong message to those involved in methamphetamine distribution in the Dubuque area.
