Meth Trafficking Conviction Rocks Randolph County

A Randolph County man has been sentenced to 13 years in prison for his role in a methamphetamine distribution ring, according to court documents.

Joshua Jesse White, 40, of Montrose, West Virginia, pleaded guilty in September 2020 to one count of “Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine” and one count of “Possession of a Firearm in Furtherance of a Drug Crime”.

At the time of his arrest in October 2018, White had in his possession more than 5 grams of methamphetamine, also known as “ice” and “crystal meth,” in Randolph County. He also had a .22 caliber revolver with him during the drug crime.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen D. Warner prosecuted the case on behalf of the government, with assistance from the Mountain Region Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force.

160 Months of incarceration was the sentence handed down by U.S. District Judge Thomas S. Kleeh in the case.

White’s conviction serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of methamphetamine and the importance of law enforcement’s efforts to combat the scourge of narcotics trafficking in our communities.

Joshua Jesse White will now begin serving his lengthy prison sentence, a fate that could have been avoided if he had not chosen to engage in illicit activities.

The 160-month sentence is a testament to the tireless work of law enforcement and the justice system in holding accountable those who would seek to harm our communities through the sale of deadly narcotics.

White’s sentence brings a measure of closure to the families and law enforcement officials who worked tirelessly to bring him to justice.
