Milton Lewis Poole III, 28, Sentenced to 210 Months in Custody
A Sioux Falls man was handed a lengthy prison sentence for his role in a methamphetamine trafficking conspiracy. On May 6, 2016, U.S. District Judge Karen E. Schreier sentenced Milton Lewis Poole III to 210 months in custody, to be followed by 5 years of supervised release, and ordered him to pay a $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.
Poole was convicted of Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine after an indictment was issued against him by a federal grand jury on August 4, 2015. He pled guilty to the charge on February 11, 2016.
According to court documents, Poole was involved in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine in Sioux Falls in 2015. He distributed over 20 pounds of methamphetamine in the city and received several pounds of the illicit substance in the mail.
The investigation into Poole’s activities was a collaborative effort between the Drug Enforcement Administration, the United States Postal Inspection Service, and the Sioux Falls Area Drug Task Force. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer D. Mammenga prosecuted the case.
