Mario Martin Prieto-Guerrero, Methamphetamine Distribution, Nebraska 2020

Lincoln, NE – A shocking display of lawlessness came to an end today as Mario Martin Prieto-Guerrero, 36, of Lincoln, was sentenced to 11 years and 3 months in federal prison for his role in a massive conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine in the Lincoln area.

According to court documents, Prieto-Guerrero was responsible for the distribution of at least 150 grams of pure methamphetamine and at least 5 kilograms of methamphetamine mixture between July 2019 and June 2020. The sheer scale of his operation left authorities stunned.

The investigation was led by the Lincoln/Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force, who worked tirelessly to unravel the complex web of crime surrounding Prieto-Guerrero. Their efforts ultimately led to the execution of a search warrant at Prieto-Guerrero’s Lincoln residence on July 29, 2020.

During the search, officers found a digital scale, packaging materials, and a .22 caliber semi-automatic handgun, which Prieto-Guerrero himself claimed as his own. This chilling discovery led to an enhancement of his sentencing range due to his possession of the firearm.

U.S. District Judge John M. Gerrard handed down the sentence, which will be followed by 5 years of supervised release. It’s worth noting that there is no parole in the federal system, meaning Prieto-Guerrero will serve the full sentence without the possibility of early release.

Prieto-Guerrero’s crimes had a devastating impact on the Lincoln community, and his sentencing serves as a stark reminder of the serious consequences of involvement in the methamphetamine trade.
