⏱ 2 min read

Michael Michaud, a 55-year-old Seacoast man, has pleaded guilty to trafficking large quantities of methamphetamine and fentanyl in the Seacoast region of New Hampshire. The guilty plea came after a DEA investigation that began in 2022, which found Michaud to be a significant source of narcotics in the area. The investigation involved multiple controlled drug purchases from Michaud and his coconspirators, resulting in the purchase of over a pound of methamphetamine and over a pound of fentanyl.

The DEA’s investigation led to Michaud’s arrest in November 2025, when he was pulled over while driving with his girlfriend. At the time of his arrest, Michaud was found to be in possession of substantial quantities of methamphetamine and fentanyl packaged for distribution.

Michaud’s guilty plea includes one count of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances and two counts of possessing methamphetamine and fentanyl with the intent to distribute them. He faces up to 20 years in prison, a fine of up to $1,000,000, and at least 3 years of supervised release.

The case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aimed at combating drug trafficking. The DEA investigated the case, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Matthew T. Hunter prosecuting. Michaud’s sentencing is scheduled for November 4, 2026.
