Law enforcement in Norcross, Georgia, took down a major methamphetamine trafficking operation on April 3, 2026, seizing 85 kilograms of the deadly drug and arresting two suspects.
The bust came after DEA agents observed Alberto Ortiz-Osornio, a Mexican national and illegal alien, loading 12-gallon bins containing methamphetamine into his car and meeting with associate Marco Antonio Solano-Posadas.
When sheriff’s deputies stopped Solano’s car, they found 30 kilograms of methamphetamine, but an investigation led to Ortiz’s residence, where agents discovered an additional 55 kilograms of the drug hidden in more 12-gallon bins.
U.S. Attorney Theodore S. Hertzberg vowed to use every tool to prevent foreign cartels from poisoning Georgians and to hold drug dealers accountable for their crimes.
