Milton Man Indicted on Cocaine Charges
A 44-year-old Milton man has been slapped with a serious indictment on cocaine trafficking charges, announced the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Justo Melendez-Morales, a resident of Milton, Pennsylvania, was indicted by a federal grand jury on May 22, 2025, for his alleged involvement in a cocaine trafficking operation.
According to Acting United States Attorney John C. Gurganus, the indictment alleges that on or about February 26, 2025, through May 9, 2025, Melendez-Morales sold and possessed approximately 38 grams of cocaine in his Milton apartment, which he maintained as a premises for drug trafficking.
The investigation into the case was led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Robin Zenzinger has been tasked with prosecuting the case, which is part of a larger nationwide initiative to combat organized crime and protect communities from violent crime.
Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative launched by the Department of Justice, aims to marshal the full resources of the Department to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, eliminate cartels and transnational criminal organizations, and protect communities from perpetrators of violent crime.
The maximum penalty under federal law for the offense is 30 years and a fine. A sentence for this offense may also include a period of supervised release following imprisonment. A sentence following a finding of guilt is imposed by the Judge after consideration of the applicable federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
It’s worth noting that indictments are only allegations and that all persons charged are presumed to be innocent unless and until found guilty in court. Melendez-Morales will now face the music and answer to the charges brought against him.
