Keith Andre Green, Armed Methamphetamine and Fentanyl Trafficking, Montana 2022

MISSOULA — A federal jury has convicted Keith Andre Green, 50, of Missoula, on charges of armed methamphetamine and fentanyl trafficking. The conviction comes after a two-day trial where Green was found guilty of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute controlled substances, possession with intent to distribute controlled substances, and possession of firearms and ammunition in furtherance of drug trafficking crimes.

Green faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years to life in prison, along with a $10 million fine and at least five years of supervised release. Additionally, he is subject to a mandatory minimum sentence of five years to life for the firearms and ammunition charge, consecutive to any other sentence, as well as a $250,000 fine and five years of supervised release.

U.S. District Judge Donald W. Molloy presided over the trial, with sentencing set for Oct. 22. Green has been detained pending further proceedings.

The government alleged that from May 2022 to September 2023, Green, along with others, trafficked methamphetamine and fentanyl in Missoula and Mineral counties while armed with firearms. He was said to receive significant quantities of drugs each week and traded them for firearms. Search warrants executed on his residence yielded over 4,000 fentanyl pills and nearly 5 pounds of meth, as well as several firearms.

U.S. Attorney Jesse Laslovich praised the efforts of federal prosecutors and law enforcement agencies involved in the case, emphasizing the importance of holding traffickers accountable for flooding communities with drugs. The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Drug Enforcement Administration, Missoula High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force, Montana Division of Criminal Investigation, and Missoula County Attorney’s Office.
