A Lincoln man has been sentenced to 235 months in prison for possession of nearly 4 pounds of methamphetamine. Mitchell Bostic, 41, of Lincoln, Nebraska, was sentenced in federal court in Omaha, Nebraska on January 15, 2025.
According to the evidence presented in court, law enforcement intercepted a package containing nearly 4 pounds of methamphetamine on December 5, 2023. A controlled delivery of the package was conducted on December 6, 2023, where Bostic and Stephanie Cummings picked up the package at a residence in Omaha. Law enforcement surveilled Bostic and Cummings as they drove away in Bostic’s vehicle, believing they were being followed, instructed Cummings to throw the package containing meth out of the car window.
Law enforcement located the package and subsequently conducted a traffic stop of Bostic’s vehicle, where both Bostic and Cummings were arrested. Cummings is awaiting sentencing in federal court.
The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
As a result of his conviction, Bostic will begin a 5-year term of supervised release after his release from prison. There is no parole in the federal system.
Bostic was charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, a federal crime. He was sentenced by United States District Court Judge Brian C. Buescher.
This conviction is a significant blow to the opioid epidemic in the state of Nebraska. Law enforcement agencies will continue to work tirelessly to bring those responsible for distributing these deadly substances to justice.
