Monessen Man Sentenced to 7 Years for Narcotics and Gun Crimes
PITTSBURGH, PA – Eric T. Emerson, 32, formerly of Monessen, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to 87 months in prison for violating federal narcotics and firearms laws, announced Acting United States Attorney Stephen R. Kaufman.
United States District Judge William S. Stickman, IV imposed the sentence on Emerson after a search warrant was executed at his residence on March 1, 2019. Agents seized four firearms, ammunition, firearm accessories, and drug paraphernalia used in the distribution of narcotics.
The search also uncovered approximately 300 individual dosage units of heroin and fentanyl, a mix of scheduled controlled substances under federal law. Emerson admitted to possessing the narcotics intending to distribute them and possessing the firearms in furtherance of that drug trafficking offense.
Following his 87-month term of imprisonment, Emerson will be supervised by the United States Probation Office for six years. He will remain in the custody of the United States Marshals Service pending transfer to a Bureau of Prisons facility.
Assistant United States Attorney Jerome A. Moschetta prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. Acting United States Attorney Stephen R. Kaufman commended the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General, and the Monessen Police Department for the investigation leading to Emerson’s conviction.
