OKLAHOMA CITY – In a chilling testament to the deadly reach of fentanyl, BETH NICHOLE CHRISTIANNA MORRIS, 34, of Moore, has been sentenced to serve 110 months in federal prison for distributing the drug that led to an overdose death. The grim reality of her actions came to light on October 28, 2019, when Norman Police Department responded to a fatal fentanyl overdose at an apartment complex.
Morris was charged with distribution of fentanyl after selling three counterfeit ‘M-30’ pills, which proved to be laced with the deadly substance. The investigation revealed that Morris had sold these pills to the victim just hours before their tragic death.
On March 18, 2024, a superseding information was filed against Morris charging her with distribution of fentanyl. She pleaded guilty on March 27, 2024, acknowledging the link between her actions and the victim’s death. At the sentencing hearing held on July 29, 2025, U.S. District Judge Joe Heaton sentenced Morris to 110 months in federal prison followed by four years of supervised release.
In addition to her prison term, Morris was ordered to pay $18,690.51 in restitution to the victim’s family for funeral expenses. Judge Heaton emphasized the severity of the offense and the need for adequate deterrence, underscoring the gravity of Morris’s actions.
