Two men were shot dead in Lowell, Vermont on October 12, 2023, in a brutal killing that’s now linked to a massive cocaine and fentanyl trafficking operation. Theodore Bland, a 29-year-old Stowe resident, is the one who pulled the trigger.
According to court records, Bland conspired with others to sell cocaine base and fentanyl to customers in Lamoille County between September 7 and October 15, 2023. When two men showed up with a stash of the highly addictive substances, Bland saw an opportunity to get his hands on it – and he took it.
The two victims were killed in cold blood, and their bodies were dumped in a wooded area in Eden. Bland then moved on to distribute some of the stolen drugs to his co-conspirators, using the rest to trade for more.
After the murders, Bland took possession of the victims’ firearms and traded one of them to a supplier for more cocaine and fentanyl. It’s a case that’s sending shockwaves through the community, and one that’s now heading to sentencing. Bland’s plea agreement calls for a life sentence, but the final decision rests with the judge.
