Buffalo Man Sentenced to 51 Months in Prison for Cocaine Trafficking

Myron Johnson, 39, of Buffalo, New York, has been sentenced to 51 months in prison for possession with intent to distribute cocaine, according to U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul, Jr.

On November 16, 2011, Erie County Sheriff’s deputies executed a search warrant at Johnson’s Ruspin Avenue residence and his vehicle. During the search, deputies seized approximately 209 grams of crack cocaine, 762 grams of cocaine, $58,000 in United States currency, and two firearms.

The investigation, led by the Erie County Sheriff’s Office under the direction of Sheriff Timothy Howard, and the Drug Enforcement Administration under the direction of Jamie J. Hunt, Acting Special Agent in Charge, New York Field Division, resulted in Johnson’s arrest and conviction.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys George C. Burgasser and Timothy C. Lynch handled the case, which was brought to a close with Johnson’s sentencing.

The sentencing marks the culmination of a lengthy investigation into Johnson’s activities, which has resulted in severe consequences for the defendant.

Johnson’s sentence serves as a reminder of the serious consequences of engaging in narcotics trafficking and the efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat this crime.
