An Omaha woman was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for her role in a methamphetamine trafficking ring.
Natasha Wolterman, 40, was convicted of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine in federal court in Omaha, Nebraska.
Prosecutors stated that Wolterman was involved in delivering drug proceeds to a cooperating witness on June 5, 2019. The witness had previously supplied Wolterman with 2 pounds of methamphetamine.
Another cooperating witness was arrested on June 7, 2019, after being found in possession of methamphetamine and a gun outside an Omaha hotel. The witness had been seen riding in a car with Wolterman prior to the arrest, and over 5 grams of actual methamphetamine were found in a woman’s purse inside the vehicle.
The investigation into Wolterman’s activities was conducted by the Omaha Police Department.
Wolterman was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment by United States District Court Judge Brian C. Buescher. There is no parole in the federal system. After completing her term of imprisonment, Wolterman will be required to serve a 5-year term of supervised release.
The case highlights the ongoing struggle against methamphetamine trafficking in the Omaha area.
