Attempted Enticement of a Minor Lands Omaha Man in Prison
Nathaniel S. Theisen, 36, of Omaha, Nebraska, has been brought to justice for his crimes against a minor. According to court records, Theisen was sentenced to 120 months’ imprisonment for his role in attempting to entice a 15-year-old female into performing sexual acts.
The crime unfolded in late August 2020 when Theisen responded to an online prostitution advertisement. However, the phone number listed in the ad was actually an undercover law enforcement officer posing as a 15-year-old female. Theisen arranged to meet the ‘minor’ on February 2, 2021, at the girl’s apartment building, where he offered to pay $200 for two hours of her time.
Instead of finding a willing participant, Theisen was greeted by law enforcement and arrested on the spot. This case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of online exploitation and the importance of vigilance in protecting our children.
Theisen’s conviction is a testament to the hard work and dedication of law enforcement agencies, including the Omaha FBI’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. Their efforts have helped bring this perpetrator to justice and ensured the safety of our community.
Nathaniel S. Theisen will serve a 120-month prison sentence, with no parole in the federal system. Upon his release, he will begin a 10-year term of supervised release. Additionally, he will be required to pay a $2,500 fine and a $5,000 JVTA assessment. Theisen will also be registered as a sex offender when he completes his sentence.
This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. The program marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims.
