Jermaine McQueen, Fentanyl Trafficking, New York 2023

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The grimy streets of Niagara Falls witnessed a heavy sentence today as Jermaine McQueen, 47, was locked up for 106 months after being convicted of possession with intent to distribute over 40 grams of fentanyl. The verdict came from U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara’s courtroom.

McQueen’s downfall began on August 28, 2024, when law enforcement executed search warrants at several locations tied to the defendant. They uncovered a staggering 405 grams of cocaine, nearly 300 grams of fentanyl, and six grams of crack cocaine, along with drug packaging materials, $10,625 in cash, and items of jewelry believed to be proceeds from narcotics trafficking.

The charges were brought about after McQueen was caught making controlled purchases of fentanyl and cocaine by investigators. Assistant U.S. Attorney Timothy C. Lynch, who prosecuted the case, emphasized the gravity of the offense.

This sentence is a result of an extensive investigation led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation under Acting Special Agent-in-Charge Mark Grimm, and several local law enforcement agencies including the Niagara Falls Police Department, directed by Superintendent Nick Ligammari; the Niagara County Sheriff’s Department, led by Sheriff Michael Filicetti; the North Tonawanda Police Department, commanded by Chief Keith Glass; the New York State Police, under Major Amie Feroleto; and the Erie County Sheriff’s Department, with Sheriff John Garcia at the helm.

McQueen’s criminal activities have once again highlighted the relentless efforts of law enforcement in combating drug trafficking in Niagara Falls. The community can rest easier knowing that one of its most notorious traffickers will now serve time behind bars.
