Norfolk Man Jailed for Child Porn

NORFOLK, Va. – A Norfolk man has been sentenced to four years in prison for possessing child pornography.

Daniel Brown, 39, was found guilty of the crime after investigators discovered he was using a photo sharing website to share and trade explicit images of children.

According to court documents, Brown was discovered during an investigation into the website and was found to have posted over 4,000 sexually suggestive comments regarding images of children.

Agents obtained a search warrant for Brown’s residence and email account and found that he possessed child pornography on his electronic devices and was using his email account to trade the explicit images with other users.

Brown was active duty Army stationed at Little Creek Amphibious Base when he was arrested. The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph L. Kosky.

U.S. District Judge Mark S. Davis sentenced Brown to four years in prison, followed by a ten-year term of supervised release.

This is a disturbing case that highlights the need for vigilance in the online community. We will continue to work tirelessly to bring perpetrators of child pornography to justice.
