PENSACOLA, FLORIDA – Carlton Shoemaker, 51, of Pensacola, pleaded guilty in federal court to distributing methamphetamine and cocaine while armed with a firearm.
United States Attorney John P. Heekin hailed the arrest as a victory against drug trafficking, emphasizing the commitment to “Take Back America” from criminals like Shoemaker.
Court documents showed Shoemaker selling drugs from a motel room, where officers found cocaine, marijuana, two firearms, and ammunition during a May 2025 search. Shoemaker has prior convictions for burglary, grand theft, cocaine possession, and firearm theft.
Shoemaker, now facing life imprisonment, was jointly investigated by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and ATF. Sentencing is set for December 11, 2025.
This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide DOJ initiative targeting illegal immigration, cartels, and violent crime.
