⏱ 2 min read

A Pensacola mail handler is staring down the barrel of federal prison time after allegedly using his job to smuggle weed and steal mail. Divincent M. Madison, Jr., 25, was indicted on one count of delay or destruction of U.S. Mail, one count of theft of U.S. Mail by U.S. Postal employee, and one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

The USPS Office of Inspector General led the investigation, which found that Madison used his position to steal and destroy mail, as well as smuggle marijuana through the postal system.

Madison appeared in federal court for his arraignment and is set to stand trial on May 18, 2026. If convicted, he faces up to 5 years in prison for each of the three counts.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Christopher C. Patterson.
