Jeremy Blueeyes, Child Sex Abuse, New Mexico 2024

ALBUQUERQUE — A chilling plea entered by a Phoenix man marks the beginning of what could be a life sentence for his heinous crime against a child. Jeremy Blueeyes, 26, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, has admitted in federal court to the unforgivable act of sexually abusing a minor who had not yet reached 12 years of age.

According to court records, this despicable act took place in 2019. The justice system is now poised to deliver a heavy sentence upon Blueeyes, who pleaded guilty to one count of abusive sexual contact of a minor. Should he be sentenced to the maximum penalty, Blueeyes could spend the rest of his life behind bars.

Upon his eventual release from prison, Blueeyes will face at least five years and up to life of supervised release. The weight of his transgression demands that he register as a sex offender for the remainder of his days.

The U.S. Attorney Ryan Ellison and Philip Russell, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Albuquerque Field Office, have officially announced Blueeyes’s conviction today. This case has been meticulously investigated by the Farmington Resident Agency of the FBI Albuquerque Field Office, with invaluable assistance from both the Navajo Police Department and the Navajo Nation Department of Criminal Investigations.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Nicholas J. Marshall is leading the prosecution against Blueeyes, ensuring that the victim receives justice and that the community is made aware of the severity of this crime. The case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of protecting our most vulnerable and the need for a strong legal response to such predatory behavior.
