PORTLAND, Ore.—The grimy streets of Portland saw another confrontation as Devin P. Montgomery, 49, faced federal court charges for assaulting a federal officer near an ICE office. The attack occurred amidst ongoing protest activity, casting a dark shadow over the city’s ongoing civil unrest.
Montgomery, accused of operating a drone in a restricted area above the ICE facility, ignored Federal Protective Service (FPS) warnings and descended into belligerence when approached by federal officers.
