MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – Former Poteau City Councilman Joe David White and Laci Marie Fox, also known as Laci Marie Noah, have been sentenced for their involvement in a methamphetamine conspiracy. White, 58, faces 151 months behind bars, while Fox, 27, is looking at 70 months.
Both residents of Poteau were indicted by the Eastern District of Oklahoma on charges related to the distribution and possession of methamphetamine. The investigation was a collaborative effort between the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, the District 16 District Attorney Narcotics Task Force, and the Poteau Police Department.
The guilty plea admitted to a conspiracy that began in 2015 and continued until January 9, 2017, involving the distribution of at least 50 grams of methamphetamine. On separate occasions in September and December 2016, the defendants were found to have distributed the dangerous substance.
U.S. Attorney Brian J. Kuester emphasized the gravity of drug trafficking, stating, ‘Methamphetamine dealers deliver tragedy to communities along with the poison they sell for profit.’ The partnership between federal and local agencies is a testament to their commitment to ridding Eastern Oklahoma of such distribution sources.
The Honorable Ronald A. White presided over the sentencing hearing at the United States District Court in Muskogee, with First Assistant U.S. Attorney Christopher Wilson representing the United States.
