GREAT FALLS — A Browning man has been handed a four-year and eight-month sentence for meth trafficking on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation, according to U.S. Attorney Jesse Laslovich.
The defendant, Robbie Wayne Racine, 31, pleaded guilty in January to possession with intent to distribute meth. Chief U.S. District Judge Brian M. Morris presided over the sentencing hearing.
Law enforcement documents indicate that in the spring of 2023, Racine was caught with meth during multiple stops. The first incident involved a traffic violation along with his co-defendant, resulting in the seizure of more than 15 grams of meth and evidence of distribution. A subsequent stop in another vehicle yielded over 170 grams of meth, concealed in a book.
Racine’s sentencing follows an investigation conducted by the Blackfeet Law Enforcement Services, FBI, Drug Enforcement Administration, and Glacier County Sheriff’s Office. The U.S. Attorney’s Office prosecuted the case with fervor.
Community members have expressed relief at the heavy sentence, hoping it will deter others from engaging in such dangerous activities on the reservation.
