Ramon G. Zamarripa, Meth Trafficking, Idaho 2012

A Twin Falls man has been sentenced to six years in prison for his role in a methamphetamine trafficking operation.

Ramon G. Zamarripa, 54, was sentenced to 72 months in prison by U.S. District Judge Edward J. Lodge on March 12, 2012, in United States District Court.

According to court documents, Zamarripa was found to be in possession of 48.12 grams of methamphetamine and a .25 caliber handgun on March 12, 2012. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking.

Zamarripa pleaded guilty to the charges on November 13, 2012, and admitted to possessing the methamphetamine with the intent to distribute it and using the firearm to facilitate a drug trafficking crime.

The case was investigated by the Twin Falls Police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

As part of his sentence, Zamarripa was also ordered to serve five years of supervised release and forfeit the firearm found in his possession.

Ramon G. Zamarripa, a resident of Twin Falls, Idaho, was the defendant in this case.

The charges against Zamarripa were possession with intent to distribute 48.12 grams of methamphetamine and possession of a .25 caliber handgun on March 12, 2012, in furtherance of drug trafficking.
