Rutland Narco Houses Forfeited

The United States Attorney’s Office has cracked down on narcotics distribution in Rutland, Vermont, by forfeiting three properties on Park Avenue used for significant narcotic drug distribution activity. The move aims to disrupt the flow of illicit substances in the community and bring justice to those affected.

According to sources, the three residences were used as hubs for narcotics distribution, causing harm to the community. The forfeited properties have been transferred to NeighborWorks of Western Vermont, a local non-profit organization dedicated to revitalizing neighborhoods and promoting affordable housing.

NeighborWorks of Western Vermont will renovate the properties and sell them on the condition that the purchaser maintains them as owner-occupied single-family residences, duplexes, or condominium residential units. This initiative is expected to revitalize the neighborhood and provide affordable housing options for local residents.

The press conference, held on October 31, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., was attended by representatives from participating federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, the City of Rutland, NeighborWorks of Western Vermont, and Project Vision. The event aimed to highlight the significance of the agreement and its impact on the community.

Participating officials included United States Attorney Eric Miller, Mayor Christopher Louras, United States Marshal David Demag, Rutland City Police Department Chief Brian Kilcullen, Lieutenant Paul Favreau of the Vermont State Police (Narcotics Investigation Unit), Ludy Biddle, Executive Director of NeighborWorks of Western Vermont, and Joe Kraus, Chairman of Project Vision.
