New Orleans, Louisiana – Jose Alfredo Jimenez-Centeno, a 72-year-old citizen of El Salvador, has been sentenced by United States District Judge Brandon S. Long for illegal re-entry into the United States after being previously deported. The sentence came on June 24, 2025, with Judge Long ordering Jimenez-Centeno to pay a $100 mandatory special assessment fee in addition to time served.

According to court documents, Jimenez-Centeno returned to the U.S. following his deportation on August 20, 1996. The defendant pleaded guilty to all charges brought against him under Title 8, United States Code, Section 1326(a).
