Tampa, Florida – Alfred Clayton Rosier Jr., 30, of Sarasota, faced a federal judge’s stern sentence as U.S. District Judge Steven D. Merryday handed down a 15-year prison term for possession with intent to distribute over half a kilogram of meth and possessing a firearm in relation to drug trafficking.
According to court documents, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Sarasota Police Department (SPD), and Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) initiated their investigation into Rosier in mid-2021. Their diligence culminated in a significant seizure following an alert from FedEx regarding a package containing eight pounds of crystal meth.
The DEA agents executed a controlled delivery, leading to the arrest of Rosier, who was caught on surveillance outside his intended destination. A search at the scene yielded additional drugs, a loaded Draco pistol, and evidence linking him to drug trafficking.
This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) operation, showcasing the collaborative efforts of multi-agency teams targeting high-level criminal organizations. Assistant United States Attorney Shauna S. Hale prosecuted the case.
Rosier’s sentence reflects the gravity of his actions and the commitment to combating drug trafficking in Florida. The OCDETF program continues to dismantle criminal networks that threaten the nation, with more information available at Justice.gov.
