⏱ 3 min read

In a brazen King County-wide crime spree, 25-year-old Maar Teng Rambang terrorized drivers and pedestrians with a gun, leaving a trail of violence and terror in his wake. On November 7, 2022, Rambang carjacked multiple vehicles, fired his gun at a victim, and led police on a high-speed chase before being apprehended.

Prosecutors say Rambang’s crime spree started outside the Kent East Hill Post Office, where he ordered a woman out of her car at gunpoint. He then drove the stolen car to the Bellevue Square Mall garage, where he threatened another woman and demanded her vehicle.

Rambang’s rampage continued in Redmond, where he attempted to rob Amazon employees working at a delivery locker. He then drove to Seattle’s Eastlake neighborhood, where he shot a man in the leg and stole his Jeep SUV.

Police chased Rambang across the county, tracking him to Kent where he was finally stopped. The high-speed pursuit lasted for miles, with Rambang driving at speeds of 90-100 miles per hour in areas of heavy traffic.
