United States Attorney Alison J. Ramsdell dropped a hammer on Adrian Fast Dog today, sentencing the Sioux Falls, South Dakota, sex offender to two years and nine months in federal prison for his flagrant disregard of the law.
Fast Dog, 45, has been ordered to pay a special assessment of $100 to the Federal Crime Victims Fund, in addition to serving five years of supervised release. His sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Roberto A. Lange on July 7, 2025.
The disgraced defendant pleaded guilty on April 10, 2025, after being indicted by a federal grand jury in June 2024. Fast Dog had been a repeat offender, having previously been convicted of a sex offense in federal court, which mandates lifelong registration as a sex offender.
Fast Dog’s crime was a clear violation of his obligations under federal law. He failed to register as a sex offender between June 25, 2024, and February 13, 2025, despite the serious nature of his previous conviction. The United States Marshals Service conducted the investigation that led to Fast Dog’s downfall.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Ann M. Hoffman was at the helm of the prosecution, ensuring justice was served for all involved in this case. This sentencing comes as a part of Project Safe Childhood, an ongoing initiative by the Department of Justice aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse.
