Stetson Bruce Sentenced to Life in Prison for Child Sexual Abuse

Muskogee, Oklahoma – In a shocking turn of events, Stetson Bruce, a 34-year-old man from Antlers, Oklahoma, has been sentenced to life in prison for committing heinous crimes against a young child.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, the charges against Bruce arose from investigations conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Pushmataha County Sheriff’s Office.

On July 21, 2022, a federal jury found Bruce guilty at trial of two counts of aggravated sexual abuse in Indian Country. The crimes occurred in Pushmataha County, within the boundaries of the Choctaw Nation Reservation, in the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

During the sentencing hearing, Judge Bernard M. Jones, II, expressed his outrage at the defendant’s actions, stating that Bruce’s crimes were a ‘depraved predator’s’ and that he would ‘always be a danger to the community.’

The U.S. Attorney’s Office stood firm in its commitment to prosecute those who victimize the innocent and defenseless among us, and the court’s decision to sentence Bruce to life in prison was a fitting penalty for his atrocious crimes.

Assistant United States Attorney Anthony C. Marek represented the U.S. Attorney’s Office in this case. Bruce will remain in custody of the U.S. Marshal pending transportation to a designated U.S. Bureau of Prisons facility to serve his non-paroleable sentence of incarceration.
