Middletown Man Charged with Receipt and Possession of Child Pornography
Steven Alan Shepherd, 30, of Middletown, Pennsylvania, has been charged with receipt and possession of child pornography, according to a press release from the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
The charges stem from a search of Shepherd’s home on May 1, 2014, where thousands of images of child pornography were discovered and seized. The material is alleged to have been received via a computer in 2010.
The Criminal Information also seeks forfeiture of computer equipment and accessories involved or used in connection with the offense.
The government has filed a plea agreement, which is subject to approval by the court. The offense carries a mandatory minimum of five years imprisonment and a $250,000 fine.
This case was investigated by the United States Postal Inspection Service and the Pennsylvania State Police and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Daryl F. Bloom.
