A brazen carjacking and shooting in St. Louis went down on September 4, 2024. Harry Moore, 21, from Venice, Illinois, helped two armed accomplices, including a juvenile, carjack a Subaru Outback driver at gunpoint in the 2900 block of Minnesota Avenue. Moore, who was also armed, demanded the victim’s wallet, iPhone, and keys.
After driving the victim’s car to a gas station, Moore used the victim’s debit card to withdraw over $200 and transferred $200 to someone via Cash App. But that wasn’t the end of it. Later that day, Moore spotted a rival gang member and opened fire with a .45-caliber handgun as the target fled into a parking garage.
On October 10, 2024, Moore was arrested in Cahokia Heights, Illinois, with three firearms, including the Glock used in the shooting. He’s now facing up to 22 years in prison for carjacking and brandishing a firearm in a violent crime.
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the FBI, and the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department investigated the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Matthew Martin is prosecuting the case, which is part of Operation Take Back America.
