A Wheeling man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in selling cocaine base in the area.
Sylvester Eugene Walker, 28, pleaded guilty in May 2021 to one count of Distribution of Cocaine Base within 1000 Feet of a Protected Location and one count of Distribution of Cocaine Base.
Walker admitted to selling cocaine base near Wheeling Central Catholic High School on January 16, 2020, and selling cocaine base on January 20, 2020, in Ohio County.
The Ohio Valley Drug Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, investigated the case.
U.S. District Judge John Preston Bailey presided over the sentencing hearing.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Shawn M. Adkins prosecuted the case on behalf of the government.
Walker’s sentence of 120 months of incarceration was handed down by Judge Bailey.
