Demitri Super, Child Pornography Production, Washington 2025

TACOMA, WA – Demitri Super, 29, of Tacoma, Washington, will spend the next 15 years in federal prison after being sentenced today for the production of images of child sexual abuse. The sentence, handed down by U.S. District Judge Benjamin H. Settle, comes after Super pleaded guilty in June 2025. This isn’t Super’s first brush with justice; he’s also facing a concurrent sentence in Pierce County Superior Court for the sexual abuse of a toddler, making this a double blow for a particularly heinous crime.

Acting U.S. Attorney Teal Luthy Miller didn’t mince words, stating, “This defendant preyed on a young child at the behest of a co-conspirator he met on the internet.” Miller emphasized the predatory nature of Super’s actions, detailing how he “willingly violated the toddler for a stranger overseas.” The case highlights the terrifying reach of online predators and the devastating consequences for vulnerable children. Congress’s mandatory minimum sentencing guidelines were fully applied, recognizing the gravity of the offense.

The investigation began when a foreign law enforcement organization flagged a disturbing Skype video to Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Computer Crimes Center. The video depicted the rape of a toddler and had been seized from a U.K. sex offender posing as a female online. HSI agents quickly moved to identify the perpetrator seen abusing the child in the video, their investigation leading directly to Demitri Super. The victim was identified and, crucially, the parents were immediately notified of the horrific abuse their child had suffered.

Prosecutors, in a sentencing memorandum to the court, didn’t shy away from describing the full extent of Super’s depravity. They argued, “The seriousness of Super’s crime cannot be overstated. He committed vile acts of sexual abuse against a defenseless toddler in his care.” The memorandum underscored the profound betrayal of trust – the parents entrusted Super with their child’s safety, and he shattered that trust in the most unimaginable way. Judge Settle, visibly disturbed, reportedly told Super at sentencing, “What you did was monstrous.”

Super’s prison term won’t be the end of his accountability. Upon release, he will be subject to 15 years of supervised release, ensuring continued monitoring and oversight. The case was spearheaded by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), with Assistant United States Attorney Matthew Hampton leading the prosecution. This wasn’t an isolated incident; it was part of a larger, coordinated effort to dismantle child exploitation networks.

This prosecution falls under the umbrella of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in 2006 by the Department of Justice. The project aims to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse by pooling federal, state, and local resources. Project Safe Childhood focuses on locating, apprehending, and prosecuting those who exploit children online, as well as rescuing victims. More information about Project Safe Childhood can be found at www.justice.gov/psc. This case serves as a grim reminder of the constant vigilance needed to protect the most vulnerable among us.
