Teresa Chagolla, Drug Conspiracy, Oklahoma 2016

GRIMY TIMES EXCLUSIVE – Tahlequah, OK – A grim judgment has been meted out to Teresa Chagolla, 55, of Tahlequah, as the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced a severe 70-month prison sentence for drug conspiracy. The sentence, handed down under Title 21, United States Code, Sections 846, 841(a)(1), and 841(b)(1)(C), also includes 3 years of supervised release.

Chagolla’s conviction stems from a conspiracy that spanned from late 2013 to early 2016, where she is alleged to have conspired with others to possess and distribute methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance. The case was part of the joint investigation code-named “Home of the Brave,” which was orchestrated by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) in Eastern Oklahoma.

The OCDETF initiative brought together law enforcement agencies from across several districts and federal offices, including the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, Muskogee County District Attorney’s Office, and the Drug Enforcement Administration. The task force’s efforts culminated in Chagolla’s conviction for drug conspiracy, a crime that has devastated communities across Oklahoma.

Presiding over the sentencing was the Honorable Ronald A. White, District Judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, located in Muskogee. Chagolla will remain in custody while awaiting transport to the federal facility where her sentence will be served without parole.

The prosecution was handled by Assistant United States Attorney Shannon Henson, who represented the interests of the United States in this high-profile case.
