Tampa Meth Kingpin Cameron Mosley Sentenced to 10+ Years
A Tampa meth kingpin has been brought to justice, sentenced to a decade behind bars for his role in a massive methamphetamine trafficking operation. Cameron Mosley, 30, was handed a 10-year, 7-month prison sentence by U.S. District Judge William F. Jung after pleading guilty on February 2, 2024.
According to court documents, Mosley’s downfall began on March 31, 2023, when he made a phone call to co-conspirator Enock Edouard, using a codename to request a large shipment of methamphetamine. The two men discussed the details of the transaction, including what Mosley’s customers would do with the narcotics.
Law enforcement, conducting surveillance on the suspected drug deal, pulled Mosley over as he attempted to meet Edouard at a Tampa restaurant. But instead of cooperating, Mosley fled the scene, leading police on a high-speed chase through the streets.
As he tried to evade capture, Mosley tossed an object out of his car window, later revealed to be a stash of methamphetamine. But Mosley’s attempt to dispose of the evidence ultimately sealed his fate. Law enforcement recovered over 40 grams of the illicit substance from the location where it was thrown, providing crucial evidence in the case against him.
Edouard, also charged in the case, was convicted following a bench trial and is currently awaiting sentencing. The case was investigated by a coalition of federal and local agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Tampa Police Department, and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. The operation was part of a broader Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) effort, aimed at dismantling high-level criminal organizations threatening the United States.
Assistant United States Attorney Michael R. Kenneth prosecuted the case, bringing Mosley to justice for his role in the massive methamphetamine trafficking operation. With this sentence, Mosley will be held accountable for his crimes and removed from the streets, bringing a measure of safety and security to the community he victimized.
