A St. Louis man has been sentenced to 33 months in prison for promoting prostitution. Terico C. Dudley, 39, was found guilty of using interstate facilities to promote prostitution.
According to the St. Louis County Police, Dudley was arrested in December 2017 after detectives posed as a woman interested in joining his ‘kingpin girl gang.’ Dudley offered her a house and a chance to make money through sex work, dancing, or creating webcam videos. He also provided her with a bus ticket.
The case was investigated by the St. Louis County Police, the Florissant Police, the Chandler Police in Arizona, and the FBI. Assistant U.S. Attorney Dianna Collins prosecuted the case.
Recommended sentencing guidelines called for 30 to 37 months in prison. The charge carries a potential penalty of up to five years in prison.
Dudley pleaded guilty to a felony count of using interstate facilities to promote prostitution in front of U.S. District Judge Audrey G. Fleissig.
The St. Louis County Police said that Dudley’s operation was a sophisticated one, with him using social media to recruit women and offering them a house and a chance to make money.
