HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – In a shocking turn of events, a Detroit man has pleaded guilty to a federal gun crime in a West Virginia courtroom.
Terrell Jerome Greenlee, 34, also known as Julian Johnson, faced the music yesterday for being a felon in possession of a firearm. The charges stem from an incident on October 17, 2021, when Greenlee brandished and pointed a firearm at a caller in Huntington.
According to court documents, officers responded to the scene and located Greenlee in possession of a loaded firearm that had previously been reported as stolen. Greenlee admitted to knowing he was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to a previous conviction in the Circuit Court of Cabell County, West Virginia for first-degree robbery in May 2014.
The investigation was conducted by the Huntington Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). U.S. Attorney Will Thompson made the announcement.
Greenlee is scheduled to be sentenced on July 11, 2022, and faces a maximum penalty of up to 10 years in prison.
