Twin Falls, ID – A shadowy figure, 40-year-old Elisha Gabrielle Ortiz, dealt death in the streets of Twin Falls. In January 2025, investigators cracked her methamphetamine trafficking ring, which had been quietly poisoning the Magic Valley area. Ortiz would sell the deadly dope to another person on at least two occasions.

But it wasn’t until July 2025 that the hammer came down. Investigators swooped in on a storage unit where Ortiz stashed her illicit stash. Inside, they found a whopping two pounds of methamphetamine and 1,200 fentanyl pills.

Now, Ortiz is facing the music. Chief U.S. District Judge Amanda K. Brailsford sentenced her to 144 months in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release. The U.S. Attorney’s office credited the Idaho State Police, Twin Falls Special Investigations Unit, and other agencies for taking Ortiz off the streets.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Christopher A. Booker prosecuted the case, which is part of the nationwide Operation Take Back America initiative. The feds are cracking down on cartels, TCOs, and violent crime in communities across the country.
