KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A grim day in the justice system as Timothy K. Jokubeit, 36, a Warrensburg resident, was sentenced to eight years and one month in federal prison without parole for his disturbing collection of child pornography.
On May 24, 2016, Jokubeit pleaded guilty to charges of receiving and possessing child pornography over the Internet. The investigation uncovered a harrowing trove of more than 2,200 images and 300 videos, including graphic scenes of children under 12 years old.
Jokubeit’s addiction to this sickening material spanned two decades. On May 28, 2015, law enforcement executed a search warrant at his residence, seizing devices laden with the despicable content.
The prosecution was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney David Barnes, with support from the Dent County Sheriff’s Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to track down predators like Jokubeit and protect our children. For more information on this initiative, visit www.usdoj.gov/psc.
The grim details of this case serve as a stark reminder of the pervasive nature of cybersex crimes and the relentless efforts of law enforcement to put these monsters behind bars.
