A 40-year-old Worcester man is headed to the slammer for six years after getting caught with a stolen gun and ammo outside a downtown nightclub. Gilbert Morin led cops on a foot chase before being busted with a loaded Taurus pistol.
According to authorities, the drama went down on May 30, 2025, when police responded to a report of a man with a firearm outside the nightclub. They couldn’t find the guy at first, but then spotted Morin trying to hide something in his hand. When they tried to stop him, he took off running.
After a brief foot chase, Morin was apprehended and found to be in possession of the stolen gun and ammo. He’s a convicted felon, which made his crime even more serious.
The Boston Homeland Security Task Force, which includes the ATF, Worcester Police Department, and other agencies, investigated the case. The US Attorney’s Office and Assistant US Attorney Kaitlin J. Brown prosecuted Morin.
