A convicted felon from Farrell, Pennsylvania, has been caught with his fingers on the trigger. Aurienn Jones, 31, was found with a firearm and ammunition on January 27, 2025, in Mercer County.
Jones’ felony conviction predates his possession of the gun and ammo, making him a prime target for federal prosecutors. Under the law, a convicted felon is prohibited from possessing a firearm or ammunition.
Assistant US Attorney Craig W. Haller is leading the prosecution, which included a thorough investigation by the ATF, FBI, US Marshals, and Farrell Police Department.
Jones pleaded guilty before Senior US District Judge Arthur J. Schwab and faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, or both. Sentencing is set for September 1, 2026.
