Nathan Quinn Harrington, a 30-year-old man from Tahlequah, Oklahoma, has been caught with his hands dirty in a federal firearm charge.
Harrington, a convicted felon, pleaded guilty to a single count of Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
According to court documents, Harrington was found in possession of a .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol and ammunition that had been shipped and transported in interstate commerce on January 23, 2024.
The investigation into Harrington’s activities was a joint effort between the Tahlequah Police Department, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
The Honorable Gerald L. Jackson, U.S. Magistrate Judge, accepted Harrington’s plea and ordered a presentence investigation report. In the meantime, Harrington will remain in the custody of the United States Marshal Service, awaiting sentencing.
Assistant United States Attorney Jonathan E. Soverly represented the U.S. government in the case against Harrington.
Harrington’s guilty plea is a major blow to those who would seek to skirt the law and possess firearms despite their prior convictions.
