Anthony Parente, a 36-year-old Albany man, was caught red-handed in a sick online grooming scam targeting a 14-year-old girl. The FBI busted him on April 2, 2026, and he’s facing federal charges.
According to the complaint, Parente used online chat apps, text messages, and phone calls to discuss his twisted desires with the alleged victim. He even provided instructions on how she could engage in explicit activities.
The operation that led to Parente’s arrest was a multi-agency effort, with the FBI working alongside state and local law enforcement. The case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of online predators.
Parente was taken into custody on April 2, 2026, and appeared in White Plains federal court the next day.
US Attorney Jay Clayton vowed to hold accountable those who target children online, saying, ‘There is little we take more seriously than protecting our children.’ The FBI’s James C. Barnacle, Jr., echoed that sentiment, promising to partner with law enforcement agencies to bring to justice those who prey on minors.
