ANTLERS, OKLAHOMA – The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma has announced that PETER GLENN BAKER, 42, from Antlers, was sentenced to 27 months in prison followed by 5 years of supervised release for failure to register as a sex offender. This sentence comes after Baker violated Title 18, United States Code, Sections 2250(a)(1), 2250(a)(2)(B) and 2250(a)(3).
Baker’s charges stem from an investigation by the United States Marshal Service. He was indicted in July 2014 and pleaded guilty in August of that year.
The indictment detailed that between October 2013 and December 2013, Baker, a registered sex offender who had received a felony conviction for Rape of a Child in the Third Degree from Washington State on December 2, 2004, traveled across state lines without registering or updating his registration as required by the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act.
Presiding over the hearing was The Honorable Ronald A. White, District Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, located in Muskogee. Baker will remain in the custody of the United States Marshal Service until he is transported to a federal facility to serve his nonparolable sentence.
Assistant United States Attorney Edward Snow represented the United States during the proceedings.
