A 27-year-old Belton man was busted with a stash of fentanyl worth a small fortune. Raimon Martez Gilliam, aka ‘Ray Money,’ sold 73 grams of the deadly synthetic opioid to a confidential informant in Kansas City on October 8, 2025.
The informant handed Gilliam $5,400, and in return, he handed over two bags of purple and white fentanyl. The transaction was caught on tape, and the evidence was later confirmed by the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crime Lab.
Gilliam’s plea deal comes as part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative to crack down on fentanyl trafficking. He faces a minimum of five years and up to 40 years in federal prison without parole.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Brad K. Kavanaugh is prosecuting the case, which was investigated by the Jackson County Drug Task Force.
