A 32-year-old Brazilian man, Walystton Henrique De Souza, slipped back into the US after being deported in 2021. He was caught in St. Tammany Parish on March 31, 2026, by agents of the US Customs and Border Patrol.
De Souza was previously removed to Brazil on July 2, 2021. He’s now facing the music for reentering the country without permission.
US District Judge Eldon E. Fallon sentenced De Souza to time served, then transferred him into ICE custody for deportation proceedings.
This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative to combat illegal immigration, cartels, and transnational crime.
US Attorney David I. Courcelle praised the work of the US Customs and Border Patrol in investigating this matter.
