A 40-year-old Honduran national, Darvin Nectali Moradel-Velasquez, was caught reentering the US illegally in New Orleans, Louisiana, on December 31, 2025.
He had previously been deported to Honduras on October 11, 2016, but managed to sneak back into the country.
Moradel-Velasquez also has a dark past, with a previous conviction for domestic abuse and child endangerment.
He faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and a $100 mandatory special assessment fee.
The case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative to combat illegal immigration and violent crime.
