Two Venezuelan nationals, Osleidy Vanesa Chourio Diaz, 28, and Josmar Jesus Zambrano-Chirinos, 25, are behind bars for running a sex trafficking ring in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Between February 2024 and April 2024, they recruited women from outside the US, brought them in illegally, and forced them into prostitution.
According to court documents, Zambrano and Chourio Diaz rented an apartment in Baton Rouge, where they made at least two women work as prostitutes. They manipulated the women into believing they owed a substantial debt, which they would pay off through prostitution.
A third defendant, Allbert Herrera Machado, 25, also a Venezuelan national, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit sex trafficking by force, fraud, and coercion. Machado resided at the apartment with the victims and controlled their movements.
The three have been convicted as part of an ongoing investigation, with Zambrano and Chourio Diaz pleading guilty to sex trafficking by force, fraud, and coercion, and Machado agreeing to assist the scheme.
